This year we went with brother Jakob and his wife Angie to get a Christmas Tree. Saturday after Jakob got off of work we headed up to Kelly Canyon. This is were we have gotten our tree the last two years. When we got to Kelly the roads were very snowy. Just into Targee National Forest trucks were stuck in the road. Thankfully Jakob was able to back us out and we left and drove to Piney Pass. It was farther away, but the roads were better. Once we finally got there we got Cowboy out so he could run and headed out. Cowboy was so glad to get out of our yard and play in the deep snow. Luckily there were snowmobile tracks for us to walk on. Even with the tracks were were sinking in. I had on a carrier to put James in. He did great and just hung out. Jeremy, Jakob and Angie took turns carrying Ethan because it was to deep for him to walk in. Unlike James, Ethan was kind of whinny the whole time. This was kind of funny because he usually likes to be outside, and all the other years he has liked it.
After a while we chose a tree and had to go off of the trail to get it. Jakob and Angie hiked a little farther up, then came back and cut a tree down. The one we chose was so heavy. I think it almost killed Jeremy to drag it back to the snowmobile trail. I was sinking into the snow up to my hip, so it was very hard to walk in. We finally cut the bottom off of our tree and it was much easier.
After loading the trees, dog, kids and ourselves in to the truck we headed to Swan Valley to have dinner at Angus. Then it was time to get home. We had a fun day and are so glad Jakob and Angie came with us. It was fun to be with them and nice to have their help carrying Ethan.

Wow, that sounds like quite an adventure, but Jeremy says it is a good looking Christmas tree.
