We drove up to Roundup Montana to visit Jakob, Angie and our Avery cousins. It was a crazy ride there. I was dosing off and woke up to see that Jeremy was turning in a different direction than I had went the last time I drove up to Jakob and Angie's. Jeremy said the GPS said it was 5 minutes faster. Before long we were turning onto a gravel road. I was not to concerned because you have to drive on a gravel road to get to their house. Before long we realized this was a bad choice. The road was horrible and had huge puddles. We slid off the road once, but Jeremy was able to drive back on the road. Then our van stopped after going through a big puddle. All kinds of lights came on the dash board. Jeremy got out to look at the van and I asked Gavin to say a prayer. Thankfully our prayer was answered and Jeremy got back in and the van started back up. We were praying all the way to their house. We had not seen a single person the whole 30 miles on this dirt road. We had not cell service and both of our phones were almost out of battery. The whole time Jeremy was saying "We are never coming back to Montana." Thankfully we made it to Jakob and Angie's. Jeremy looked at our van and reset the warning lights. It did end up saving us 30 minutes, but Jakob said they have got work trucks stuck on that road.
Our kids loved playing with their cousins and all the animals. Mostly they loved riding Shadow the horse and Oreo the pony. Grace was so brave and was not satisfied to just walk on the horse. She needed to get up and go.
They also liked feeding the baby calves, but were said when one got sick and died during the night.
Our main reason for going to Montana was to be at my niece Oakley's baptism. We are very proud of her and so glad to have been there. Unfortunately, after all our crazy driving on gravel roads we got a flat tier. We are so thankful for the branch members so helped Jeremy change the tire to a spare, so we could get back to Jakob's shop, so he could patch it up.
