Salt Lake City!!!

We had a very fun and busy weekend. Jeremy and I as well as Jeremy's dad and mom (Neil and Shelley), and two sisters (Wendy and Mandi) had tickets to "Wicked" in Salt Lake on Friday night. Jeremy's brother-in-law was nice enough to watch Ethan at the motel with his four kids. Thanks David!!! We both really enjoyed the play. I liked it more than Jeremy, but he said he liked the story line.

Saturday we headed out to explore Salt Lake. Jeremy found Salt Lake Connect Passes for $20. This let us go to as many places on there list as we could get to in a day. It was worth it. We started at the Holgle Zoo. It was early and a little rainy, but that turned out to be a good thing. Not a lot of people and the animals were all out and about, so we got to see them all. Ethan was trying to take it all in and study it all. There were a lot of new things for him. Grandpa Furniss bought tickets for all of the grand kids to ride the carousel. I thought Ethan would want Jeremy to pick him up as soon as it started, but he rode the whole time and seemed to like it.

After the zoo we went to This is the Place Heritage Park and walked around the monuments. We also got to take a train ride around the pioneer village and learned a lot of history. Ethan loved the train ride. I think this is because we were moving and he did not have to be st raped into his car seat. He liked to hang out the window and got very excited. This was a little scary for his mom and dad a few times, but Ethan loved it.

Included with our passes was lunch at the Lion House. It was good food and a fun place to stop

and have lunch. Thankfully Ethan took a nap while we ate. We did not take any pitchers, but Temple Square was beautiful with all of the tulips and other flowers. I wish we would have had time to walk around more.

After lunch we headed over to Discovery Gateway. This is like the dream play house for all kids. Ethan really liked the area that is for kids age 3 years and younger. It looks like a pond with padded floors, wide stairs to clime up, slides, and tree house, toys, etc. He loved it and was all over. Ethan also really liked the water works. He loves water, so it was perfect for him. The rest of the Discovery gateway was way cool to Jeremy and I, but Ethan was not to interested in it. Not even the helicopter interested him. He just wanted to go back down stairs to play in the baby area.

We left Salt Lake after that and headed for Sandy to the Living Planet Aquarium. It was a very busy place with lots of people. That made it hard to see everything, but it was a nice aquarium. We even were able to touch sting rays and other fish.

Our last stop was Thanksgiving Point to see the Museum of Ancient Life. Thankfully it was not as busy as the aquarium and Ethan could crawl around as we walked through. It was interesting and had a lot to see.

Ethan was so good on our trip considering how much were were doing, missing naps, being in and our of the car, etc. We al had a lot of fun and were tired by the time we got home!
