Jeremy had the twenty third off so, we headed down to his parents to visit then his parents watched Ethan while we went to the Mystique to have dinner and watch A White Christmas. The food was good and so was the show. The next day we got up and went to Lava to see my family. We could hardly stand the wait because we knew my brother Jakob was proposing to his girl friend Angie that day. She said yes and we are so happy for them. They will be getting married April 10th in the Salt Lake Temple.
We also decorated cookies for Santa that night and watched a nativity movie. We need more little kids to act it out, so a video will have to do for now. Ethan opened his Christmas PJ's from Grandma and Grandpa Furniss. We all opened our white stocking to see what gifts we had given to Christ last year and wrote down new ones to try and do this year. Then it was time for bed, so Santa could come.
Christmas morning Ethan did not know what to think. He came out then ran back in the room. He loved it as soon as he found the candy Santa had left, and the toys.
We took our traditional family picture
. We never look great, but it is fun to see all of the pictures from years past.
We went down to my Grandma Avery's house to open gifts. My Aunt Marion and Uncle George also came over. Ethan is the youngest and gets to play Santa's little helper by passing out the gifts. (With the help of Aunt Tami)
The first gift Ethan opened was this squishy ball. he did not want to open any other gifts, so the rest of us opened our gifts, and when we were done I made Ethan open the rest of his. He loved them all after he got them open. Most of all a little car that he can ride of and it plays Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, or The Muffin Man Song that he got from his Grandpa and Grandma Avery. Ethan was so funny and would have it play the Muffin Man song over and over, if someone tried to have it play Twinkle Twinkle Little Star he would run in and change it.
My Grandma Avery is doing really well after her knee surgery and is using just a cane to walk around. I think she enjoyed her Christmas and even shared some memories from Christmases past that she liked. One that I thought was funny is when my dad was younger he got a tricycle for Christmas. The next year Santa brought his younger brother Norman a tricycle. When my dad work up he said "Dumb Santa! Doesn't he know I already have a tricycle? We all got spoiled this year. We had French toast for breakfast then got ready to call my brother Kyle how is serving an LDS mission in Mexico. He sounded so good and it was fun to talk to him. We only have two and a half months until he comes home on March 17th. I don't know if he is ready, but we all are.
Jakob and Angie left after talking to Kyle to visit her family. We played games, talked, Ethan wrestled Tami and got ready for Christmas dinner. My little cousin Madison got back from her dads and Ethan enjoyed playing with her. It was a good Christmas.
The next day we took Ethan sledding. He had no expression the whole time. Not happy, sad, scared. Nothing! It was funny.
