I took Ethan to the doctor on Tuesday for his two year old check up and to get his last shots until he is ready to go to kindergarten. (I kind of freaked out because I am not ready to think about my baby leaving for kindergarten. I know it is a few years away, but the thought makes me a little sad.) He is 35 1/2 in. tall (80th percentile) and 23 lbs 9 oz. (6th percentile) Very tall and skinny, but also very healthy and doing all the things he is suppose to. A few things about Ethan:
*He loves to play with balls: throws with is right and left hand, kicks with his right and left foot, hits the ball with a bat/golf club/any stick, and shoots the ball through his basketball hoop.
*He loves cars, trucks, tractors, any kind of vehicle. He likes to see the real thing and play with his toys. He really likes to go on four wheeler rides with Grandpa Avery.

*He asks all the time to go outside and would never come in if we did not make him.
*Ethan loves animals. His favorite is a dog and the first thing he looks for when we get to Grandma and Grandpa Avery's house is their dog Scooter. He also really likes to feed ducks and go for walks by our house to see the cows (ows) and horses.
*Ethan is a very picky eater. He actually eats most things, but you never know when he will eat them. One day he will eat something and the next time you give it to him he will not touch it.
* Ethan loves to help with everything. He likes to help clean, cook, fix things, carry thing, etc. He is so smart and learns very quickly. We are always amazed with what he will do that we had no idea he knew how.
*Ethan is growing up. He has been sleeping in his big boy bed for three months. He can put on his shoes by himself (and a few other
things depending on how hard they are to get on) and take off all of
his clothes by himself. He walks up and down stairs with out holding onto anything (a little scary sometimes). Ethan has been doing really good with nursery and goes right in most of the time.
*Ethan knows when it is time for dad to come home and runs to give him hugs as soon as he get home. He also likes to give kisses.
*He can identify his hair, ear, eyes, nose, mouth, teeth, hands and feet.
*He likes to look at books and have your read to him.
*He is getting better about using a fork and spoon, but when something is really good he gives up and just uses his hands.
*Ethan is learning to color, but does not really like to . In nursery they always tell us the is not much of a colorer. Sometime his picture comes home with only a few lines of color on it.
*Ethan likes to watch TV maybe too much. His favorite shows are Blues Clues, Dora the Explorer, Barney, Bob the Builder, and Thomas.
Ethan loves to play with friends. He likes when we get to have friends over to play. He is learning to share. (still working on this, but getting better).
*Ethan says a few words that everyone can understand, and a lot of words that Jeremy and I understand. Some of them are: no, mine, more (with the sign language), drink, down, up, side (outside), ball, og (dog), ow (cow), daddy, mommy, TD (TV), jump, ot (hot), dow (go), silly, sock, shoe, bye-bye, snow, nana (banana). baby, belly. A few short sentence: Stop you. Where'd it go? What's that? (these are just a few that I can think of right now).
*Ethan can understand and follow direction. I say can because he sometimes chooses not to. I am always amazed at what I will tell him to do and that he will go and do it.
*Ethan is not always a sweet little boy. He can throw a really good tantrum. He jumps up and down screaming. Then falls on the ground crying and rolling around. This happens many times when he does not get what he wants.
There are a lot more things I could right about Ethan. We sure love him and are so proud of all the things he has learned to do.

How cute! I can't believe he is two already. Time sure does fly. Sounds like a smart, happy little guy--he must have good parents:)
