We have a 14 year old!!! I don't know how this very small baby boy has turned in to a young man who is taller than I am. He is defiantly in that middle area. Sometime am shocked by how grown up and independent he is and other time I think, "Shouldn't you be able to do that?" I could not be move impressed with him and so grateful to be his mom. He did not want a friend birthday party this year, so we just celebrated at home with family, gifts, food and ice-cream cake.
